World No. 1 woman’s golfer
Lorena Ochoa of Mexico is on a tear. Lorena Ochoa has in fact won 6 of the 12 LPGA tour events this 2008, and is truly showing why she is the number one woman golfer in the world.
Former world no. 1 Annika Sorenstam of Sweden would’ve given Lorena Ochoa some stiff competition, but Annika Sorenstam has already announced her retirement from the sport of golf in order to focus on her personal life. Besides, Annika Sorenstam has had a constant battle with back pains that kept her away from the LPGA Tour last year.
Of course, there are still other golfers who will pose a threat to the reign of Lorena Ochoa, such as Paula Creamer, Yani Tseng and Jeong Jang, who are some of the top 3 points earners for the LPGA Playoffs, which will culminate at the ADT Championship.
However, if you want to bet on golf, then your best bet would be to wager on Lorena Ochoa as her consistency and dominance in the LPGA Tour will certainly bring a sure profit.
The next golf tournament on the LPGA Tour will be the 2008 Corning Classic, where Lorena Ochoa will be expected to compete against the top 32 woman golfers. Certainly, Lorena Ochoa is a favorite to win the event, especially after winning the recent LPGA Sybase Classic.
Bet on the LPGA Tour. Bet on Lorena Ochoa to win the 2008 Corning Classic.

Mexico’s
Lorena Ochoa, the world’s number 1 golfer in women’s golf, led the entire field after four rounds of golf by 11 strokes to claim the title of the 2008 HSBC Women’s Champions tournament held recently in Singapore.
Lorena Ochoa completed a runaway victory in her first tournament of the year, closing with a 4-under 68 to leave Annika Sorenstam 11 strokes behind Sunday in the rain-slowed HSBC Women’s Champions.
Competing for the first time since winning the ADT Championship in November for her eighth 2006 victory, Lorena Ochoa finished at 20-under 268 on Tanah Merah’s Garden Course. The top-ranked Mexican star earned $300,000 for her 18th career LPGA Tour victory.
Annika Sorenstam won the B-flight, shooting a 71 in the rainy afternoon conditions for her third straight top-four finish. Slowed by neck and back injuries last year, she won the season-opening SBS Open in Hawaii for her 70th LPGA Tour title and first since September 2006, then finished fourth last week in the Fields Open.
Paula Creamer, the Fields Open winner, shot a 73 to finish third at 7 under. Laura Diaz (71) was another stroke back in the first-year tournament, and Karrie Webb (74) and Stacy Prammanasudh (71) followed at 5 under.
In an event where only 13 players finished under par, Ochoa opened with rounds of 66, 65 and 69 to take an eight-stroke lead over Annika Sorenstam and Paula Creamer into the final round. Lorena Ochoa missed a chance to break Cindy Mackey’s 72-hole record for margin of victory of 14, but topped her own mark of 10 in the 2006 Tournament of Champions.
Rain delayed play three times Sunday, the first for nearly an hour just after Lorena Ochoa, Paula Creamer and Annika Sorenstam began play in the final group. It then took them about two hours to finish the par-3 11th and par-4 12th, with play stopped for about an hour after they teed off on 11 and for 20 minutes after their drives on 12.
After the first delay, Lorena Ochoa birdied the par-3 third and par-5 fourth to reach 18 under. She also birdied the par-5 ninth and ended a string of six pars with a birdie on the par-4 16 that got her to 20 under.
