Brazil vs Argentina. Ronaldinho vs Messi.
The Brazil Olympic Men’s Soccer Team has yet to win an Olympic Gold Medal. The Argentina Olympic Men’s Soccer Team are the current defending champions, and were the Olympic Gold Medal winners during the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.
Soccer superstars Ronaldiho of Brazil and Lionel Messi of Argentina are among the highlighs of the semi-final match between Brazil vs Argentina. Of course, the winner of this Olympic semi-final soccer match will advance to the finals with the opportunity to compete for an Olympic Gold Medal, or at least be awarded with an Olympic Silver Medal.
Brazil crushed Germany 4-1 during the quarterfinal to earn a match against Argentina in the semi-final. Meanwhile, Argentina overcame Netherlands 2-1 during their quarterfinals.
Belgium vs Nigeria
Highlighting the other Olympic Men’s Soccer semi-final match will be Belgium vs Nigeria. Belgium has once won an Olympic Gold Medal in Men’s Soccer, but that was nearly a century ago in 1920. Nigeria had their Olympic Gold Medal in men’s soccer during the 1996 Atlanta Olympic Games.
Nigeria knocked out the Ivory Coast 2-0 in the quarterfinals while Belgium had to get past a rather talented Italy side, and beat them 3-2.

Rafael Nadal of Spain is indeed the heavy favorite against
Fernando Gonzalez of Chile going into the Olympic Gold Medal match for the Men’s Singles Tennis event at the 2008 Beijing Olympics. A look into Rafael Nadal’s recent accomplishments include a championship at the 2008 French Open and at the 2008 Wimbledon.
Clearly, Rafael Nadal is the best player in the world right now. Even though Roger Federer of Switzerland still leads the ATP Men’s rankings, his inability to win more tournaments than usual in the 2008 season has allowed Rafael Nadal to come very close to overtaking Roger Federer.
Roger Federer didn’t have a good campaign for an Olympic Gold Medal, losing out to James Blake of the USA. According to Roger Federer, the schedule of the tennis ttournament in the 2008 Beijing Olympics was just ridiculous because it would have the players go through as much as 11 games within one week. Certainly, even if they were tennis professionals, that kind of schedule doesn’t make it easy for the players. In fact, the tennis tournament would be a survival of the fittest as players will be given little time to recuperate before they have to go back in the court again.
Well, that’s how things go in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and if you stick on who the fittest tennis players really are, then perhaps Fernando Gonzalez of Chile and Rafael Nadal of Spain are it!
The winner of the Nadal vs Gonzalez match will go on to win an Olympic Gold Medal while the loser will be awarded the Silver medal.
When the Olympics is done, the last grand slam tournament of the tennis season will be played. The 2008 US Tennis Open will kick off on August 25 in New York.

It’s a no-brainer! The heavy favorites to win an Olympic gold medal for Men’s Basketball in the
2008 Beijing Olympics are the USA Men’s Basketball Team. Team USA has a roster of awesome NBA All-Stars that include the likes of 2007 NBA MVP
Kobe Bryant,
Lebron James, Carmelo Anthony, Dwyane Wade, Carlos Boozer, Chris Paul, Chris Bosh, Dwight Howard, Deron Williams, Jason Kidd, Tayshaun Prince and Michael Redd.
USA are being given -350 odds in the betting lines as the outright winner of the olympic gold medal in Men’s Basketball. A bet on USA pays out 20 to 30%, which is a very good sports betting investment that rewards better than a savings bank account.
The USA will be facing China in their first game in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, and the USA are being given a -33.5 point spread to cover against China. The point spread looks very big indeed, and covering 33.5 points is no easy task for the USA, who will be going up against the likes of Yao Ming and Yi Jianlian. But then, if there’s a team that can cover a 33.5 point spread, then it has got to be the USA.
Other odds on who will be the outright winner of the Olympic Gold Medal in Men’s Basketball for the 2008 Beijing Olympics include: Spain (+400) and Argentina (+550).
Oddsmakers are expecting that the finals of Men’s Basketball in the 2008 Beijing Olympics will be fought between USA vs Spain.

In the Olympic sport of Women’s Basketball, USA are the heavy favorites to win a gold medal in the coming 2008 Beijing Olympics.
The Women’s National Basketball Team of the USA has won the Olympic gold medal in 1984, 1988, 1996, 2000 and 2004. The only time they failed to win the gold was in 1992 when they won a Bronze medal. The USA Women’s Basketabll Team has also won the World Championships in 1998 and 2002, but settled for the bronze medal in 2006 after losing to Russia in the semi-finals.
One of the reasons why the USA Women’s Basketball Team are the favorites is because they have a solid lineup of pro basketball players who play in the WNBA, which is indeed the premier basketball league for women. Some of the WNBA all-stars included in the lineup for Team USA include Cheryl Ford, Lisa Leslie, Diana Taurasi, Sue Bird, Tamika Catchings, DeLisha Milton-Jones, Michelle Snow, Candace Parker, Sheryl Swoopes and Lindsey Harding.
Oddsmakers have given The USA Women’s Basketball Team a -500, which doesn’t really give out a huge pay-out, but should still be a good sportsbetting investment which pays better than a 4% interest of a bank savings account. Other odds for women’s basketball include: Australia (+275), Russia (+700).
Bet on Team USA to win an Olympic Gold Medal in Women’s Basketball.

The Brazil Men’s Soccer team are the favorites to win the gold medal in men’s soccer in the upcoming 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Brazil’s soccer team boasts of a superstar line-up that includes the likes of Ronaldinho of FC Barcelona, Robinho and Julio Baptista of Spanish La Liga champions Real Madrid, Anderson of English Premier League champions Manchester United, Luis Fabiano of Sevilla and Adriano of Sao Paulo. FIFA World Pro Player of the Year Kaka of AC Milan might still be included in the line-up, but a press release has yet to be released.
Of course, Brazil is the most successful nation to participate in the World Cup, having won the World Cup a total of five teams. In the history of football in the Olympics, Brazil has never won a gold medal, although they have had 2 silver medals and a bronze medal. Perhaps, the 2008 Beijing Olympics will be their time to shine and win a gold medal.
Brazil will hope to progress from the group stages of the tournament if they can manage to have the better record against the likes of China, Belgium and New Zealand. It is most likely that Brazil will top the group and progress to the 2008 Beijing Olympics Men’s Football quarterfinals.
