German Bundesliga club
Bayern Munich has hired
Juergen Klinsmann to become its new head coach. Juergen Klinsmann will be replacing former Bayern Munich head coach Omar Hitzfeld.
Omar Hitzfeld has currently led Bayern Munich to a great season so far in the
2007-08 German Bundesliga season. In fact, Bayern Munich is on top of the leaderboard in a tie with
Werder Bremen. Both Bayern Munich and Werder Bremen lead the German Bundesliga with 36 points each. The current defending champions of the German Bundesliga are
VfB Stuttgart. However, Stuttgart are not having much success in the German Bundesliga, and are only in 8th position with 25 points.
Bayern Munich’s new head coach Juergen Klinsmann will hope to continue on the success of Omar Hitzfeld, but his work as head coach doesn’t begin until July 1. The last coaching assignment of Juergen Klinsmann was as head coach of the German National Team that played in the 2006 World Cup held in Germany. The German national team earned a 3rd place finish during the 2006 World Cup with key players like Lukas Podolski, Miroslav Klose and Michael Ballack in the squad. After the 2006 World Cup, Juergen Klinsmann immediately resigned as head coach and he hasn’t had a coaching job since.
