UFC 87: Seek and Destroy just concluded today, and among the highlight matches of UFC 87 was
Brock Lesnar winning over
Heath Herring. Of course, the main event was a UFC Welterweight Championship bout between current champions
Georges St. Pierre against
Jon Fitch. Georges St. Pierre dominated the fight that lasted 5 full rounds. Jon Fitch was a definite warrior and survivor, but just really couldn’t muster much against Georges St. Pierre, who successfully defends his UFC Welterweight championship.
Anyway, UFC 87 is history, and we now move on to UFC 88: Breakthrough which will be held on September 6, 2008 at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. The main event for UFC 88 will be a light heavyweight bout between Chuck Liddell vs Rashad Evans.
Chuck Liddell is the favorite to win against Rashad Evans, considering his reputation as one of the most exciting MMA fighters in the UFC. However, a look into the MMA record of Chuck Liddell reveals that he has a 21-5 record, losing 2 of his last 3 fights to the likes of Quinton Jackson and Keith Jardine. Chuck Liddell’s reputation is still strong, and he’s booked big wins against the likes of Randy Couture (twice!) and Tito Ortiz (twice) throughout his career. Chuck Liddell’s most recent victory was against Wanderlei Silva during UFC 79, but it wasn’t won with the flair and knockout power Chuck Liddell has been known for.
Meanwhile, Rashad Evans does not have a loss in his MMA record, and remains undefeated. The only blemish in the MMA career of Rashad Evans was a draw with Tito Ortiz during UFC 73. The last win of Rashad Evans was an unconvincing split decision agisnt Michael Bisping in UFC 78. Perhaps, it was the lack of firepower from his last two fights that has made Rashad Evans the underdog against Chuck Liddell despite still being unbeaten.
Of course, all will be settled in The Octagon during UFC 88 at the Phillips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia, come September.
Other bouts available for betting on UFC 88: Breakthrough include:
And still there are more fights in UFC 88.
