From the first round until the final round South African golfer Trevor Immelman was at the top of the leaderboard, and kept his name up there until the final stroke to win the 2008 Masters Tournament and get a coveted green jacket.
Trevor Immelman finished the tournament with an 8-under par. His nearest competitor in second was Tiger Woods who surged a late rally in the fourth round, but eventually only managed a 5-under in second place. Trevor Immelman’s flight mate Brandt Snedeker finished in a tie for third with Stewart Cink, both shooting a total of 4-under. Phil Mickelson and Padraig Harrington finished in a fifth-place tie with 2-under.
The next Grand Slam golf tournament will be the 2008 US Open Championship in June 2008 at Torrey Pines in San Diego, California.
