In the recent F1 German Grand Prix,
Lewis Hamilton of McLaren was able to take first place at the Hockenheim Ring in order to win his second consecutive first place finish, and his fourth of the season to give him the topspot of the 2008 F1 World Drivers’ Championship Standings. Coming in at 2nd place was
Nelson Piquet Jr. of Renault, who had a magnificent race to give him his first trip to the podium.
Meanwhile, Felipe Massa of Ferrari came in third to keep him within striking distance from Lewis Hamilton at the World Drivers’ Championships, but still trails Lewis Hamilton by 4 points.
As it stands, Lewis Hamilton of McLaren leads all drivers with 58 points while Felipe Massa of Ferrari has 54 points, followed closely by Kimi Raikkonen of Ferrari with 51 points.
Lewis Hamilton hopes to bag his third consecutive first place finish in the upcoming 2008 F1 Hungarian Grand Prix at the Hungaroring in Budapest. Of course, he’ll have to overcome the stiff competition of the Ferrari team and their drivers like Felipe Massa and last season’s F1 World Champion Kimi Raikkonen.
Ferrari have been a bit more consistent, considering that they lead the 2008 F1 World Constructor’s Championships at the moment with 105 points, followed by BMW Sauber with 89 points. McLaren sits at the third spot of the F1 World Constructors Championship standings with 86 points, but that can improve if Lewis Hamilton continues his streak and comes up with yet another first place finish at the Hungaroring for the 2008 F1 Hungarian Grand Prix.
